Step 1: Before setting up

Before setting up your wireless print server, make sure the printer has been set up correctly.

• The toner or print cartridges are installed.

• Paper is loaded.

• Your printer is powered off and the power cord is unplugged from the wall receptacle.

• Your printer is ready to be installed.

About the setup process

Read all instructions before proceeding with setup.

Before the printer can be connected to your wireless network, the print server must first be installed in the printer and

configured for use on the network.

Note: See the User’s Guide on the MarkNet N8050 Utilities CD for alternate setup information.

Step 2: Installing the print server

Installing the internal wireless print server option card may vary depending on the printer. See the printer

documentation, publications CD, or Web site for instructions on installing option cards.

CAUTION: Make sure the printer is powered off and the power cord is unplugged before installing the wireless print

server option card.

Connecting the USB cable

Once the print server is installed, attach the antenna to the option card. Make sure to tighten the connector until the

antenna is attached securely, as a loose connection can result in a poor wireless signal. Then, bend the joint until the

antenna is pointing up.

Note: Some printer configurations create space restrictions that may require the antenna be attached before

installing the option card.

Step 3: Connecting the USB

1 Replace any panel(s) or hardware that was removed.

2 Close all printer doors.

3 Turn the printer on.

Inserting the MarkNet N8050 Utilities CD

Connect the USB cable from your computer to the printer USB port. When the New Hardware Wizard appears,

click Cancel.

Step 4: Inserting the MarkNet

N8050 Utilities CD

Insert the MarkNet N8050 Utilities CD, and install the software. Click Install MarkNet N8050 Utilities to run the

Wireless Setup Utility.

Inserting the MarkNet N8050 Utilities CD

Follow the instructions on the computer screen.

Once the Wireless Setup Utility has completed, disconnect the USB cable from the printer and your computer.

The Wizard Mode

provides step-by-step

instructions allowing users

to set up and configure the

print server using WEP and

WPA Personal.

The Advanced Mode

gives users direct access

to print server settings.

Enterprise 802.1x users

must select this mode.

software CD

Remove the MarkNet N8050 Utilities CD. Insert and run the printer drivers or printer software CD that came with the

printer. Follow the Suggested > Network printer install path to complete the installation of the printer.

Etape 1 : Avant la configuration

Avant de configurer votre serveur d'impression sans fil, assurez-vous que l'imprimante est configurée correctement :

• Les cartouches de toner ou d’impression sont correctement installées.

• Du papier est chargé.

• Votre imprimante est hors tension et le cordon d'alimentation est débranché de la prise de courant.

• Votre imprimante est prête pour l'installation.

A propos du processus d'installation

Lisez l'ensemble des instructions avant de commencer la configuration.

Avant de connecter votre imprimante au réseau sans fil, vous devez installer le serveur d'impression dans l'imprimante

et le configurer pour une utilisation sur le réseau.

Remarque : reportez-vous Guide de l'utilisateur disponible sur le CD Utilitaires MarkNet N8050 pour obtenir des

informations complémentaires sur la configuration.

Etape 2 : Installation du serveur

d'impression

L'installation de la carte en option du serveur d'impression sans fil interne peut varier selon l'imprimante. Pour plus

d'informations sur l'installation des cartes en option, reportez-vous à la documentation de l'imprimante, au CD

Publications ou au site Web.

ATTENTION : assurez-vous que l'imprimante est hors tension et que le cordon d'alimentation est débranché avant

d'installer la carte en option du serveur d'impression sans fil.

Branchement du câble USB

Une fois le serveur d'impression installé, fixez l'antenne sur la carte en option. Serrez le connecteur jusqu'à ce que

l'antenne soit fixée correctement, sous peine d'obtenir un signal sans fil de mauvaise qualité. Ensuite, pliez l'antenne

de façon à ce qu'elle soit orientée vers le haut.

Remarque : sur certaines imprimantes, l'antenne doit être fixée avant installation de la carte en option, en raison d'un

espace limité.

Etape 3 : Branchement du

câble USB

1 Remettez en place tout panneau ou matériel qui aurait été retiré.

2 Fermez toutes les portes de l'imprimante.

3 Mettez l'imprimante sous tension.

Insertion du CD Utilitaires MarkNet N8050

Branchez le câble USB sur votre ordinateur et sur le port USB de l'imprimante. Lorsque l'Assistant Ajout de

nouveau matériel s'affiche, cliquez sur Annuler.

Etape 4 : Insertion du CD

Utilitaires MarkNet N8050

Insérez le CD Utilitaires MarkNet N8050 et installez le logiciel. Cliquez sur Installer l'utilitaire MarkNet N8050 pour

exécuter l'Utilitaire de configuration sans fil.

Suivez les instructions affichées à l'écran.

Une fois l'installation de l'Utilitaire de configuration sans fil terminée, débranchez le câble USB de l'imprimante et de

votre ordinateur.

Le Mode Assistant

offre des instructions

détaillées permettant à

l'utilisateur de configurer

le serveur d'impression en

utilisant le chiffrement WEP

et WPA Personal.

Le Mode Avancé permet à

l'utilisateur d'accéder

directement aux paramètres

du serveur d'impression.

Les utilisateurs

d'Enterprise 802.1x doivent

sélectionner ce mode.
