have chosen a high quality product. The instructions for use are

part of the product. They contain important information concern-

ing safety, use and disposal. Before using the product, please fa-

miliarise yourself with all of the safety information and instructions

for use. Only use the product as described and for the speciﬁed

applications. If you pass the product on to anyone else, please

ensure that you also pass on all the documentation with it.

Proper use

The product is intended for outdoor use. The product is intended

for private use only. The product is not intended for commercial or

for use in other applications.

Not suitable for ordinary lighting in household

room illumination.

This product is suitable for extreme temperature up to -21°C.

unsupervised with the packaging material. There is always a

risk of suﬀocation if children play with the packaging material

Children often underestimate risks. Always keep children away

from the packaging material. This product is not a toy.

This product can be used by children aged from 8 years and

above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental

capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have

been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the

product in a safe way and understand the hazards involved.

Children shall not play with the product. Cleaning and user

maintenance shall not be made by children without supervision.

Never leave children unattended with the packaging material.

It can cause suﬀocation. Children often underestimate dangers.

Always keep children away from the product.

This product is not a toy and should be kept out of the reach

of children. Children are not aware of the dangers associated

with handling electrical products.

Do not use the product if you detect any kind of damage. The

LED cannot be replaced.

The LED is not replaceable.

If the LED fails at the end of its life, the entire product must be

replaced.

CAUTION! DANGER OF EXPLOSION! Do

not operate the product in potentially explosive en-

vironments in which there are inﬂam mable vapours,

gases or dusts.

Product-speciﬁc safety instructions

Do not subject the product to strong vibrations or high

mechanical loads.

Make sure that the solar cell

is free of dirt and free of snow

and ice in winter. Otherwise the performance of the solar cell

will diminish.

Cold temperatures have a negative inﬂuence on the operating

life of the rechargeable battery. If the product is not going to

be used for a long time, e.g. in winter, it should be switched

oﬀ, taken up, cleaned and stored in a dry, warm room.

Never open up the solar housing

! In the event of damage,

repairs or other problems with the product, please contact an

electrician. The LED is not replaceable.

CAUTION! DANGER OF EXPLOSION! Use

only rechargeable battery of the recommended

type. Other rechargeable or single-use batteries

could explode during charging.

RISK OF INJURY! Make sure that when the

housing

is removed that the ground spike

is also removed

so they cannot pose any risk (e.g. stumbling over them).

Dispose of the product in the proper way if the product is

damaged.

Safety instructions for batteries /

rechargeable batteries

DANGER TO LIFE! Keep batteries / rechargeable batteries

out of reach of children. If accidentally swallowed seek

immediate medical attention.

DANGER OF EXPLOSION! Never recharge

non-rechargeable batteries. Do not short-circuit bat-

teries / rechargeable batteries and / or open them.

Overheating, ﬁre or bursting can be the result.

Never throw batteries / rechargeable batteries into ﬁre or water.

Do not exert mechanical loads to batteries / rechargeable

batteries.

Risk of leakage of batteries / rechargeable batteries

Avoid extreme environmental conditions and temperatures,

which could aﬀect batteries / rechargeable batteries, e.g.

radiators / direct sunlight.

If batteries / rechargeable batteries have leaked, avoid contact

with skin, eyes and mucous membranes with the chemicals!

Flush immediately the aﬀected areas with fresh water and seek

medical attention!

WEAR PROTECTIVE GLOVES! Leaked or dam-

aged batteries / rechargeable batteries can cause

burns on contact with the skin. Wear suitable pro-

tective gloves at all times if such an event occurs.

In the event of a leakage of batteries / rechargeable batteries,

immediately remove them from the product to prevent damage.

Remove batteries / rechargeable batteries if the product will

not be used for a longer period.

Risk of damage of the product

Only use the speciﬁed type of battery / rechargeable battery!

Insert batteries / rechargeable batteries according to polarity

marks (+) and (-) on the battery / rechargeable battery and

the product.

Clean the contacts on the battery / rechargeable battery and

in the battery / rechargeable battery compartment before

inserting!

Remove exhausted batteries / rechargeable batteries from the

product immediately.

Functioning

The solar cell

installed in the product converts sunlight into

electrical energy and stores it in 1 Ni-MH battery. Switches on the

light as it begins to get dark. The in-built LED is a very long-life and

energy-saving light source. The light duration depends on the amount

of sunlight, the angle of light on the solar cell

and the tempera-

ture (the battery capacity is temperature-dependent). A vertical an-

gle of light at temperatures above the freezing point is ideal. The

rechargeable battery does not achieve maximum capacity after

several charge and discharge cycles.

Preparing for use

Note: Remove all packaging materials from the product.

Installing the product

1. Rotate the solar housing

anticlockwise out of the housing

2. Move the ON / OFF switch

into the ON position to switch

the product on.

3. Insert the solar housing

into the housing

and tighten by

turning it clockwise.

For model A/C, please make sure the solar housing

is in

correct position, the groove

must engage in the recess

in lamp shade (see ﬁg.).

4. Take out the ground spike

from bottom of the housing

and insert it into the housing

with the tip facing downwards.

5. Your product is ready for use.

Setting up the product

Insert the assembled product far enough into the ground

(lawn, ﬂower bed) for it to be stable.

Make sure you keep proper footing and balance at all times.

Do not use any force when assembling or setting-up the prod-

uct, e.g. hammer blows. This will damage the product. In order

to achieve the best result, set the product up in a place where

the solar cell

will get direct sunlight for as long as possible.

Do not set the product up under bushes, trees, porches, etc.,

as this will reduce the amount of sunlight it receives.

Position the product in such a way that the solar cell

is not

covered or in shadow.

Make sure that the solar cell

is not inﬂuenced by any other

source of light such as yard or street lighting as otherwise the

light will not come on in twilight.

The light automatically switches on in twilight conditions and

oﬀ again when normal outdoor lighting conditions return.

Replacing the rechargeable battery

The rechargeable battery should be replaced every 12 months to

ensure optimum performance.

1. Rotate the solar housing

anticlockwise out of the housing

2. Carefully press the clip on the rechargeable battery compart-

ment cover

together and lift the rechargeable battery

compartment cover.

3. Remove the old rechargeable battery.

4. Insert the new rechargeable battery into the rechargeable bat-

tery compartment

, observing the correct polarity.

5. Fold the rechargeable battery compartment cover

closed

again, ensuring that they engage.

6. Insert the solar housing

into the housing

and tighten by

turning it clockwise.

Charging the rechargeable battery

Note that the product must be switched on when the rechargeable

battery is charging.

The charging time of the rechargeable battery when the solar cell

is used depends on the intensity of the sunlight and the angle

of incidence of the light on the solar cell

. Place the solar cell

as perpendicular as possible to the angle of incidence of the

light. In this way you will receive the highest light levels.

Maintenance and care

The LED cannot be replaced. The product is maintenance-free,

except for any necessary change of rechargeable battery.

Do not under any circumstances use abrasive cleaning agents.

Replace the rechargeable battery if, after a certain amount of

time, the light duration diminishes noticeably despite good ex-

posure to sunlight. Only use the correct size and recommended

type of rechargeable batteries (see “Technical Data“).

Clean the product regularly with a soft brush or a paint brush.

Troubleshooting

Note: This product has delicate electronic components. This means

that if it is placed near an object that transmits radio signals, it could

cause interference. If you notice that the product is malfunctioning,

remove any sources of interference from the area of the product.

Note: Electrostatic discharges may cause product to malfunction.

In the event of such malfunctions, remove the rechargeable battery

brieﬂy and reinsert it.

Disposal

The packaging is made entirely of recyclable materials, which you

may dispose of at local recycling facilities.

Observe the marking of the packaging materials for

waste separation, which are marked with abbreviations

(a) and numbers (b) with following meaning: 1–7: plas-

tics / 20–22: paper and ﬁbreboard / 80–98: compos-

ite materials.

The product and packaging materials are recyclable,

dispose of it separately for better waste treatment. The

Triman logo is valid in France only.

Contact your local refuse disposal authority for more

details of how to dispose of your worn-out product.

To help protect the environment, please dispose of the

product properly when it has reached the end of its use-

ful life and not in the household waste. Information on

collection points and their opening hours can be obtained

from your local authority.

Faulty or used batteries / rechargeable batteries must be recycled

in accordance with Directive 2006/66/EC and its amendments.

Please return the batteries / rechargeable batteries and / or the

product to the available collection points.

Environmental damage through incorrect

disposal of the batteries / rechargeable

batteries!

Batteries / rechargeable batteries may not be disposed of with the

usual domestic waste. They may contain toxic heavy metals and

are subject to hazardous waste treatment rules and regulations.

The chemical symbols for heavy metals are as follows: Cd = cad-

mium, Hg = mercury, Pb = lead. That is why you should dispose of

used batteries / rechargeable batteries at a local collection point.

Warranty

The product has been manufactured to strict quality guidelines

and meticulously examined before delivery. In the event of product

defects you have legal rights against the retailer of this product.

Your legal rights are not limited in any way by our warranty de-

tailed below.

The warranty for this product is 3 years from the date of purchase.

Should this product show any fault in materials or manufacture

within 3 years from the date of purchase, we will repair or replace

it – at our choice – free of charge to you.

The warranty period begins on the date of purchase. Please keep

the original sales receipt in a safe location. This document is requi-

red as your proof of purchase. This warranty becomes void if the

product has been damaged, or used or maintained improperly.

The warranty applies to defects in material or manufacture. This

warranty does not cover product parts subject to normal wear, thus

possibly considered consumables (e.g. batteries) or for damage to

fragile parts, e.g. switches, rechargeable batteries or glass parts.
