2.1 General
Current / average speed comparison
If you are traveling at approximately
your average speed, nothing is
displayed. If you are traveling
quicker than your average speed,
( ) is displayed; if you are
traveling slower ( ) is displayed.
This information is displayed in
almost all functions, except the
basic settings.
Automatic detection of the second bike
The switchover between bike 1 and bike 2 occurs
automatically. You simply need to carry the
necessary accessories with you. For the wired
device, the universal bracket with appropriate
cabling should be purchased as an extra. For the
wireless device, a second speed transmitter should
be purchased and set to bike 2 (see set-up
instructions for further details).

2. Functions / Properties
The total values are only separately displayed for
bike 1, bike 2 and bike 1+2 once a second bike has
been added. If only one bike is used, only the total
values for the first bike are displayed.
Light manager Simultaneously press the SET and
RESET buttons to switch the light function on/off.
The display lights up by pressing any button; the bike
computer changes to the respective function when the
button is pressed again. On STS devices, the light
function is disabled during synchronization (max.
5 minutes). Avoid using the backlight unnecessarily
to save the battery!
Service interval The service interval informs
you when you have cycled a specified number of
kilometers and a bike inspection is due. This
service interval can only be enabled/disabled
and pre-configured by your specialist retailer.
The device comes with the service interval disabled.
Battery status The battery status of the
computer head unit is displayed shortly before
the battery runs out.
“low/computer” appears
on the display. After changing the battery, only the
time needs to be re-set.
Memory chip
Thanks to an inbuilt memory chip,
all total values and settings are permanently stored
in the bike computer. This means that you do not
need to reconfigure any settings (except for the
time) after changing the battery.
PC compatibility The bike computer is
PC-compatible. After purchasing the SIGMA
DATA CENTER software and docking station,
you can simply and effortlessly log your total
and current values on your PC. You can also
configure your bike computer’s settings on the PC.

2.3 STS features
Synchronization Attach the BC 16.12 STS to the
bracket – zeros flash for the speed and cadence.
There are two ways of synchronizing the speed /
cadence:
1. Start cycling – the receiver usually
synchronizes with the transmitters after 3-4 wheel /
pedal rotations.
2. Spin the front wheel or turn the pedals until
the speed / cadence values stop flashing.
Removing the BC 16.12 STS from the bracket
severs the connection.
2.2 Special functions
Hiding total values during the trip If the BC 16.12/
BC 16.12 STS receives speed signals, all the total
functions (distance, time) are hidden on the display.
If no speed values are received, the functions are
once again displayed.
Showing and hiding cadence functions If the
BC 16.12 / BC 16.12 STS are used without the
cadence transmitter, all the cadence functions
(cadence / Ø cadence) are hidden for this trip after
five minutes.
Trip section (TS) counter This is a separate
distance / time counter that is manually started and
stopped. The trip section counter makes it possible
to evaluate a trip section or interval training session
without influencing the total values for the trip.
2. Functions / Properties

When transported on a bike
rack or in the car (if clicked into the bracket),
the BC 16.12 STS switches to “transport mode”
via an integrated movement sensor. “Transport”
appears on the display. Press any button to exit
this mode.

3.3 Deleting the functions
Please see the diagrams for how to delete the
functions.
Please note that the trip section (TS) counter,
stopwatch, and countdown timer are not deleted
with the current trip values.
3. Settings / Deletion
3.1 Settings
The following settings can be configured: language /
unit / wheel size 1 / wheel size 2 / time /
total distance 1 / total distance 2 / total time 1 /
total time 2 / contrast. Clear diagrams of how to set
each of these functions can be found in the enclosed
leaflet.
3.2 Determining the wheel size
To measure your speed precisely, the wheel size must
be set on the basis of your tire size. To do this, you
can:
A – Calculate the wheel size using the formula provided
in the wheel size chart.
B – Determine the value from the drawings in the
wheel size chart.
C Take the value that corresponds to your tire size
from the wheel size chart.

2.1 Splošno
Primerjava trenutne / povprečne hitrosti
Če vozite s hitrostjo, ki je približno
enaka povprečni, se ne prikazuje
nič. Če vozite s hitrostjo, višjo od
povprečne, se prikazuje ( ), če
pa s hitrostjo, nižjo od povprečne,
pa ( ). Prikaz je aktiven pri vseh
funkcijah, razen pri osnovnih
nastavitvah.
Samodejna razpoznava drugega kolesa Menjava
med kolesom 1 in kolesom 2 je samodejna. S seboj
je treba imeti le ustrezno opremo. Če gre za napravo
s kablom, je treba dodatno kupiti univerzalno držalo
z ustreznim kablom. Če gre za brezžično napravo, je
treba kupiti dodatni oddajnik za hitrost in ga nastaviti
na kolo 2 (za podrobnosti glejte navodilo za
montažo). Skupne vrednosti se prikazujejo ločeno za
kolo 1, kolo 2 in kolo 1+2, ko se pojavi drugo kolo.
Če uporabljate samo eno kolo, so prikazane zgolj
skupne vrednosti prvega kolesa.

2.3 Posebnosti STS
Sinhronizacija BC 16.12 STS vstavite v držalo –
Ničle prikaza hitrosti in kadence utripajo. Hitrost /
kadenco lahko sinhronizirate na dva načina:
1. Speljite in sprejemnik se praviloma po
3-4 obratih kolesa / pedala sinhronizira z
oddajnikom.
2. Obračajte sprednje kolo oz. pedale tako dolgo,
da prikaz hitrosti / kadence preneha utripati.
Če BC 16.12 STS odstranite iz držala, se povezava
prekine.
2.2 Posebne funkcije
Izklop prikaza skupnih vrednosti med vožnjo
Ko BC 16.12 / BC 16.12 STS sprejema signale
hitrosti, so vse skupne funkcije (pot, čas) nevidne.
Ko ni več sprejema vrednosti hitrosti, se funkcije
spet pojavijo na prikazu.
Vklop in izklop prikaza funkcij kadence Pri uporabi
BC 16.12 / BC 16.12 STS brez oddajnika signala za
kadenco se prikaz vseh funkcij kadence (kadenca /
Ø kadenca) po 5 minutah za to vožnjo izklopi.
Trip Section Counter (TS) To je poseben števec
poti / časa, ki ga zaženete oz. ustavite ročno.
Trip Section Counter omogoča vrednotenje delne
proge oz. določenega intervala vadbe brez vpliva
na skupne vrednosti ture.
