SERIES DE–EU ELECTRIC TORQUE CONTROL

WRENCHES/NUTRUNNERS

Series DE–EU Wrenches/Nutrunners are designed for assembly applications requiring

precise torque monitoring and control, accuracy, consistency and repeatability.

Ingersoll–Rand is not responsible for customer modification of tools for applications on

which Ingersoll–Rand was not consulted.

OPERATING THIS TOOL AND SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS.

PLACING TOOL IN SERVICE

• Use only with Ingersoll–Rand Series Controllers.

• Always operate, inspect and maintain this tool in

accordance with all regulations (local, state, federal

and country), that may apply to hand held/hand

operated electric tools.

• Inspect tool cords periodically and if damaged, have

them repaired by an authorized service facility.

• Do not remove any labels. Replace any damaged

label.

USING THE TOOL

• Always wear eye protection when operating or

performing maintenance on this tool.

• Always wear hearing protection when operating

this tool.

• Power tools can vibrate in use. Vibration, repetitive

motions, or uncomfortable positions may be

harmful to your hands and arms. Stop using any

tool if discomfort, tingling feeling or pain occurs.

Seek medical advice before resuming use.

• Guard Against Electric Shock. Prevent body contact

with earthed or grounded surfaces. For example;

pipes, radiators, ranges, refrigerator enclosures.

• Don’t abuse Cord. Never carry tool by cord or yank

it to disconnect from receptacle. Keep cord from heat,

oil, and sharp edges.

• Keep work area clean. Cluttered areas and benches

invite injuries.

Have your tool repaired by a qualified person. This electric tool is in accordance with the relevant safety requirements.

Repairs should only be carried out by qualified persons using original spare parts, otherwise this may result in

considerable danger to the user.

Servicenter.

USING THE TOOL (Continued)

• Consider work area environment. Don’t expose

power tools and chargers to water. Keep work area

well lighted. Do not use tool in explosive or

flammable atmospheres.

• Keep bystanders and children away. Do not permit

unauthorized personnel to operate this tool, or touch

tool or cord.

• Store idle tools. When not in use, tools should be

stored in a dry, high or locked up place, out of reach of

children.

• Don’t force tool. It will do the job better and more

safely at the rate for which it was intended.

• Use the right tool. Do not force a small tool or

attachment to do the job of a heavy–duty tool.

• Do not use a tool for a purpose for which it is not

intended. Example: Do not use a screwdriver as a

drill.

• Dress properly. Do not wear loose clothing or

jewelry. They can be caught in moving parts. Rubber

gloves and non–skid footwear are recommended when

working outdoors. Wear protective hair covering to

contain long hair.

• Secure work. Use clamps or a vise to hold work.

Operators often need both hands to perform job

functions.

• Don’t overreach. Keep proper footing, balance, and a

firm grip on the tool at all times.

• Maintain tools with care. Keep tools clean for better

and safer performance. Follow instructions for

lubricating and changing accessories. Inspect tool

cords periodically and if damaged, have them repaired

by an authorized service facility. Inspect extension

cords periodically and replace if damaged. Keep

handles dry, clean, and free from oil and grease.

• Remove adjusting keys and wrenches. Form habit of

checking to see that keys and adjusting wrenches are

removed from tool before turning it on.

• Avoid unintentional starting. Don’t carry tool with

finger on switch.

• Do not drop or abuse the tool.

• Whenever a tool is not being used, position the

Power Switch to the “OFF” position and unplug the

power cord.

• Stay alert. Watch what you are doing. Use common

sense. Do not operate tool when you are tired.

• Check damaged parts. Before further use of the tool,

a guard or other part that is damaged should be

carefully checked to determine that it will operate

properly and perform its intended function. Check for

alignment of moving parts, binding of moving parts,

breakage of parts, mounting, and any other conditions

that may affect its operation. A guard or other part that

is damaged should be properly repaired or replaced by

an authorized service center unless otherwise indicated

elsewhere in this operation manual.

• Have defective switches replaced by an authorized

service center.

• Do not use the tool if the switch does not turn it on

and off.

• Whenever the Angle Head is installed or

repositioned, the Throttle Switch or Lever must be

positioned so that reaction torque will not tend to

retain the throttle in the “ON” position.

• When installing or removing the output device on

any tool, ALWAYS grasp a metal component of the

tool while tightening or loosening the Coupling Nut

or Spindle Cap. Acceptable clamping

locations include, but are not limited to, the hex on

the Gear Case, the Tool Hanger, the Torque

Reaction Arm or any metal Mounting Plate.

NEVER grasp the composite tool body or handle in

vise jaws to restrain the torque of the Coupling Nut

or Spindle Cap. Such practice will result in damage

to the tool.

• Do not use power units and gear trains that exceed

the capability of the output device.

• The Tube Nut Attachment has an opening on the

front side for construction and application

purposes. DO NOT, under any circumstance place

your fingers in this opening.

• The Torque Reaction Bar must be positioned

against a positive stop. Do not use the Bar as a dead

handle and take all precautions to make certain the

operator’s hand cannot be pinched between the Bar

and a solid object.

• When operated continuously for long periods of

time, Series D Nutrunners may become hot at the

spindle end of the tool. Take all precautions

necessary to avoid skin contact with the hot

surfaces. Prolonged contact may result in burns.

• All Series D Torque Control Wrenches and

Nutrunners with reverse capability have rotational

arrows molded into the housing in the area of the

reversing mechanism. When the direction

switching device is positioned nearest the molded

circular arrow with an “F” in the center, spindle

rotation will be forward or clockwise direction.

When the direction switching device is positioned

nearest the molded circular arrow with an “R” in

the center, spindle rotation will be reverse or

counterclockwise direction.

• Use only impact sockets and accessories. Do not use

hand (chrome) sockets or accessories.

GRIP ADJUSTMENT

The handle of the hand–held housing have an Adjustable Grip which permits individual operators to select one of three

handle thickness positions. Operators with large hands can select the bulkiest position and operators with small hands can

select the smallest size. To adjust the Grip, disconnect the power supply proceed as follows:

1. Grasp the grooved ends of the Adjustable Grip Latch, and spreading the ends slightly, raise the Latch to its uppermost

position. (Refer to TPD1834).

2. Grasp the Adjustable Grip and slide it rearward until it stops. (Refer to TPD1835).

3. Raise or lower the Grip until the desired grooves inside the Grip align with the appropriate lugs on the Handle.

4. Slide the Grip forward onto the Handle until it butts against the large portion of the handle. (Refer to TPD1837).

5. Push the Grip Latch downward to its original position to lock the adjustment into position. (Refer to TPD1838).

PLACING TOOL IN SERVICE

LUBRICATION

Ingersoll–Rand No. 67

Ingersoll–Rand No. 90

Adequate lubrication is imperative for maximum

performance and durability of the gearing in these tools.

Gearing

After each 50 000 cycles, or one month of operation, inject

3 to 4 cc of Ingersoll–Rand No. 67 Grease into the Grease

Fitting in the Gear Case Assembly.

Angle Attachment

After each eight hours of operation, inject 1 to 2 cc of

Ingersoll–Rand No. 67 Grease into the Grease Fitting in the

Angle Housing Assembly.

Crow Foot Attachment

Excessive lubrication of the Crow Foot Attachment may

result in Attachment malfunctions.

After each thirty hours of operation, or as experience

indicates, inject 1/2 cc of Ingersoll–Rand No. 90 Grease

into the Grease Fitting of the Crow Foot Attachment having

two gear stages and 1 cc of Ingersoll–Rand No. 90 Grease

into the Grease Fitting of the Crow Foot Attachment having

more than two gear stages.

After each eight hours of operation, or as experience

indicates, inject 1 to 2 cc of Ingersoll–Rand No. 67 Grease

into the Grease Fitting of the Angle Housing Assembly.

Tube Nut Attachment

Excessive lubrication of the Tube Nut Attachment may

result in Attachment malfunctions.

After each thirty hours of operation, or as experience

indicates, inject 1/2 cc of Ingersoll–Rand No. 90 Grease

into the Grease Fitting of the Tube Nut Attachment having

two gear stages and 1 cc of Ingersoll–Rand No. 90 Grease

into the Grease Fitting of the Tube Nut Attachment having

more than two gear stages.

After each eight hours of operation, or as experience

indicates, inject 1 to 2 cc of Ingersoll–Rand No. 67 Grease

into the Grease Fitting of the Angle Housing Assembly.

Sound and vibration values for standard angle wrenches (DEA) and for geared offset head angle wrenches (DET and DEC)

are maximum expected values obtained by testing a variety of different size tools and geared offset heads (tube nut and

crowfoot attachments).

Torque ranges are for the base angle wrench without a geared offset head. With a geared offset head attached, the torque

range for a tool will be reduced up to 30% from its catalogued range.

MISE EN SERVICE DE L’OUTIL

• Utiliser seulement avec les contrôleurs des séries

Ingersoll–Rand.

• Exploiter, inspecter et entretenir toujours cet outil

conformément aux réglementations (locales,

départementales, fédérales et nationales) en vigueur

pour les outils électriques tenus/commandés à la main.

• Inspecter périodiquement les cordons d’alimentation,

et, en cas d’endommagement, les faire réparer par un

centre d’entretien autorisé. Inspecter périodiquement

UTILISATION DE L’OUTIL (suite)

• Faire attention aux chocs électriques. Éviter tout contact

du corps avec des surfaces mises à la masse. Par exemple

: tuyauteries, radiateurs, fours, enceintes de réfrigérateurs.

• Ne pas maltraiter le cordon d’alimentation. Ne jamais

transporter l’outil par son cordon, et ne jamais tirer sur le

cordon pour le débrancher de sa prise. Tenir le cordon

éloigné des sources de chaleur, de l’huile et des arêtes

vives.

• Maintenir le lieu de travail propre. Les zones et les

établis encombrés peuvent être cause de blessures.

• Considérer l’environnement du lieu de travail. Ne

jamais exposer les outils électriques ou les chargeurs à

l’eau. Assurer un éclairage adéquat de la zone de travail.

Ne jamais utiliser l’outil dans des atmosphères explosives

ou inflammables.

• Tenir les personnes et les enfants éloignés. Ne jamais

laisser du personnel non autorisé se servir ou toucher

l’outil ou le cordon.

• Ranger les outils non utilisés. Lorsqu’ils ne sont pas

utilisés, les outils doivent être rangés dans un endroit sec et

fermé hors de portée des enfants.

• Ne pas forcer l’outil. Il effectuera sa tâche plus

efficacement et en toute sécurité s’il est utilisé à sa vitesse

normale.

• Utiliser l’outil correct. Ne jamais forcer un petit outil ou

accessoire à effectuer la tâche d’un outil à usage intensif.

• Ne pas utiliser un outil pour une tâche autre que celle

pour laquelle il a été conçu. Par exemple, ne pas utiliser

une visseuse comme une perceuse.

• Porter les vêtements appropriés. Ne pas porter de

vêtements flous ou des bijoux. Ils peuvent être attrapés par

les pièces en mouvement. Des gants en caoutchouc et des

chaussures antidérapantes sont recommandés pour les

travaux à l’extérieur. Porter un filet protecteur pour retenir

les cheveux longs.

• Fixer les pièces. Utiliser des brides ou un étau pour fixer

les pièces. Les opérateurs ont souvent besoin de leurs

deux mains pour effectuer leur travail.

• Ne pas se pencher en avant. Conserver une position

stable et équilibrée, et tenir fermement l’outil à tout

moment.

• Entretenir les outils avec soin. Pour obtenir des

performances optimales et sûres, tenir les outils propres.

Observer les instructions de lubrification et de

changement d’accessoires. Inspecter périodiquement les

cordons d’alimentation, et, en cas d’endommagement, les

faire réparer par un centre d’entretien autorisé. Inspecter

périodiquement les rallonges et les remplacer en cas

d’endommagement. Tenir les poignées sèches, propres et

exemptes d’huile et de graisse.

• Retirer les clés de réglage. Prendre l’habitude de vérifier

que toutes les clés de réglage et de serrage sont enlevées

de l’outil avant de le mettre en marche.

• Éviter toute mise en marche accidentelle. Ne pas

transporter l’outil avec un doigt sur l’interrupteur.

• Ne pas laisser tomber ou maltraiter l’outil.

• A chaque fois qu’un outil n’est pas utilisé, placer

l’interrupteur d’alimentation à la position “ARRÊT”

(OFF) et débrancher le cordon d’alimentation.

• Rester alerte. Etre attentif pendant le travail. Ne pas

prendre de risque. Ne pas utiliser l’outil en cas de fatigue.

• Vérifier les pièces endommagées. Avant tout autre

usage de l’outil, un carter de protection ou tout autre

composant endommagé doit être vérifié pour s’assurer

qu’il remplira correctement son rôle. Vérifier

l’alignement des pièces mobiles, le grippage des pièces

en mouvement, la cassure des pièces, leurs fixations et

toute autre condition qui pourrait affecter le

fonctionnement de l’outil. Sauf indication contraire dans

ce manuel, tout carter ou autre composant endommagé

doit être réparé ou remplacé par un centre d’entretien

autorisé.

• Faire remplacer les interrupteurs défectueux par un

centre d’entretien autorisé.

• Ne pas utiliser l’outil si l’interrupteur n’assure pas

correctement la mise en marche ou l’arrêt.

• A chaque fois que le renvoi d’angle est installé ou

repositionné, l’interrupteur ou le levier de

commande doit être positionné de manière à ce que

le couple de réaction n’ait pas tendance à maintenir

le levier de commande en position “ON”

(MARCHE).

• Lors de la pose ou de la dépose de l’accessoire de

n’importe quel outil, TOUJOURS saisir un

composant métallique de l’outil pour le serrage ou

le desserrage de l’écrou d’accouplement ou du

chapeau de broche. Les positions de serrage

acceptables comprennent, sans être toutefois

limitées à, l’hexagone du boîtier d’engrenages, la

suspension de l’outil, le bras de réaction de couple

ou toute autre plaque de montage métallique. NE

JAMAIS serrer le corps composite de l’outil ou la

poignée dans les mâchoires d’un étau pour retenir

le couple appliqué sur l’écrou d’accouplement ou le

chapeau de broche. Une telle pratique conduira à

l’endommagement de l’outil.

• Ne pas utiliser des groupes moteurs ou des trains

d’engrenages qui dépassent la capacité de l’accessoire

de serrage.

• La broche déportée à engrenages (noix ouverte) a une

ouverture sur le côté avant à des fins de construction

et d’application. NE JAMAIS, pour une raison

quelconque, mettre les doigts dans cette ouverture.

• La barre de réaction de couple doit être placée

UTILISATION DE L’OUTIL (suite)

• Lorsqu’elles sont utilisées continuellement pendant

de longues périodes, les boulonneuses de la Série

D peuvent s’échauffer du côté broche de l’outil.

Prendre toutes les précautions nécessaires pour

éviter tout contact entre la peau et les surfaces

chaudes. Un contact prolongé peut produire des

brûlures.

• Toutes les clés et boulonneuses dynamométriques de

la Série D ayant une fonction de marche arrière

sont dotées de flèches moulées sur le corps dans la

zone du mécanisme d’inversion. La broche

tournera en marche avant ou dans le sens des

aiguilles d’une montre lorsque le dispositif

d’inversion de marche est placé à côté de la flèche

circulaire moulée ayant la lettre “F” en son centre.

La broche tournera en marche arrière ou dans le

sens inverse des aiguilles d’une montre lorsque le

dispositif d’inversion de marche est placé à côté de

la flèche circulaire moulée ayant la lettre “R” en

son centre.

• N’utiliser que les douilles et les accessoires pour clés

à chocs. Ne pas utiliser les douilles et accessoires

(chromés) de clés manuelles.

RÉGLAGE DE LA POIGNÉE

La corps de l’outil est doté d’une poignée réglable qui permet aux opérateus individuels de sélectionner une des trois

positions d’épaisseur de poignée. Les opérateurs ayant de grandes mains peuvent choisir la plus grande taille, tandis que ceux

ayant de petites mains peuvent choisir la plus petite taille. Pour régler la poignée, débrancher l’alimentation électrique et

procéder comme suit :

1. Saisir les extrémités cannelées du verrou de poignée réglable et en écartant légèrement les extrémités, soulever le verrou

jusqu’à sa position haute. (Voir TPD1834).

WERKZEUGEINSATZ

• Schutz vor Elektroschock. Körperkontakt mit geerdeten

Oberflächen vermeiden. Zum Beispiel: Rohre,

Heizkörper, Herde, Kühlschrankgehäuse.

• Kabel nicht beschädigen. Werkzeug niemals am Kabel

tragen oder zum Ziehen des Steckers am Kabel ziehen.

Kabel vor Hitze, Öl und scharfen Kanten schützen.

• Arbeitsfläche sauberhalten. Arbeitsflächen und -tische

nicht überladen: Platzmangel bedeutet erhöhte

Verletzungsgefahr.

• Umgebung sichern. Elektrowerkzeuge und Ladegeräte

niemals Wasser aussetzen. Arbeitsfläche gut beleuchten.

Werkzeug nicht in explosiven oder flammbaren

Atmosphären einsetzen.

• Beobachter und Kinder fernhalten. Nichtbefugte

dürfen dieses Werkzeug nicht verwenden und weder das

Werkzeug noch das Kabel anfassen.

• Nicht benötigtes Werkzeug aufräumen. Nicht

benötigtes Werkzeug sollte hoch, trocken, abgeschlossen

und kindersicher aufbewahrt werden.

• Werkzeug nicht gewaltsam einsetzen. Es funktioniert

besser und sicherer, wenn es auf die beabsichtigte Weise

für geeignete Arbeiten eingesetzt wird.

• Stets das richtige Werkzeug verwenden. Ein kleines

Werkzeug oder Zubehörteil sollte niemals die Arbeit

eines Werkzeugs für hohe Beanspruchung leisten.

• Werkzeug nicht zweckentfremdet verwenden.

Beispiel: Drehschrauber nicht als Bohrer einsetzen.

• Geeignete Kleidung tragen. Keine Flatterhemden oder

Schmuck tragen. Sie können sich in beweglichen Teilen

verfangen. Für Außenarbeiten werden

Gummihandschuhe und rutschfeste Schuhe empfohlen.

Lange Haare sollten mit einem Haarnetz oder einer

Mütze geschützt werden.

• Werkstück sichern. Werkstück in Klemmen oder

Schraubstock einspannen. Häufig sind zur Ausführung

der Arbeit beide Hände nötig.

• Nicht zu weit vorbeugen. Stets sicheren Stand,

Gleichgewicht und Werkzeug fest im Griff halten.

• Werkzeug sorgsam warten. Werkzeug für besseren,

sichereren Einsatz sauberhalten. Anleitung zum

Schmieren und Wechseln des Zubehörs befolgen.

Kabel periodisch überprüfen und bei Beschädigung

von autorisierter Servicewerkstatt reparieren lassen.

Verlängerungskabel periodisch überprüfen und bei

Beschädigung ersetzen. Griffe trocken, sauber und frei

von Öl und Fett halten.

• Justierschlüssel und Schraubenschlüssel entfernen.

Routinemäßig vor dem Einschalten des Werkzeugs

überprüfen, ob Justier- und andere Schlüssel entfernt

wurden.

• Versehentliches Einschalten vermeiden. Beim

Tragen des Werkzeugs nicht Finger auf dem Schalter

halten.

• Werkzeug nicht fallen lassen oder zweckwidrig

verwenden.

• Wird das Werkzeug nicht verwendet, so muß der

Schalter in die Stellung “OFF” (AUS) gebracht und

der Stecker gezogen werden.

• Stets wachsam sein. Stets vorsichtig vorgehen.

Überlegt handeln. Werkzeug nicht in übermüdetem

Zustand einsetzen.

• Beschädigte Teile überprüfen. Vor dem weiteren

Verwenden des Werkzeugs sollten beschädigte Schütze

oder andere Teile sorgsam geprüft werden, um

festzustellen, ob es immer noch richtig und sicher

eingesetzt werden kann. Ausrichtung der beweglichen

Teile, Blockierung der beweglichen Teile, beschädigte

Teile, Anbringung und alle Schäden, die den Betrieb

beeinträchtigen könnten, müssen geprüft werden.

Beschädigte Schutz- und andere Teile sollten von einer

autorisierten Reparaturwerkstätte richtig repariert oder

ersetzt werden, außer es ist etwas Gegenteiliges in

dieser Anleitung angegeben.

• Fehlerhafte Schalter müssen von einer autorisierten

Reparaturwerkstätte ersetzt werden.

• Werkzeug nicht verwenden, wenn es nicht über den

Netzschalter ein- und ausgeschaltet werden kann.

• Wird ein Winkelkopf montiert oder in seiner

Stellung korrigiert, muß der Drosselschalter oder

Hebel so ausgerichtet sein, daß das

Reaktionsdrehmoment die Drossel nicht auf der

“ON”-Position hält.

• Bei Installation oder Entfernen der

Leistungsabgabeeinheit eines Werkzeuges, das

Werkzeug IMMER an einem Metallteil halten,

während Kupplungsmutter oder Spindellagerdeckel

festgeschraubt oder gelöst werden. Der Sechskant

am Getriebegehäuse, die Werkzeugaufhängung, der

Drehmoment–Reaktionsstab oder eine beliebige

Anbauplatte aus Metall sind unter anderem als

Einspannstellen zulässig. Den Werkzeugkörper

oder –griff aus Verbundmaterial NIEMALS in

einen Schraubstock einspannen, um das

Drehmoment von Kupplungsmutter oder

Spindellagerdeckel aufzunehmen. Auf diese Weise

wird das Werkzeug beschädigt.

• Keine Leistungseinheiten oder Getriebe verwenden,

die die Kapazität der Leistungsabgabeeinheit

übersteigen.

• Der Präzisions-Flachabtrieb (offene Ausführung)

hat vorne eine Öffnung für Bau- und

Anwendungszwecke. Finger AUF KEINEN FALL

in diese Öffnung stecken.

WERKZEUGEINSATZ (Fortsetzung)

• Der Drehmoment–Reaktionsstab muß gegen einen

positiven Anschlag angelegt sein. Den

Reaktionsstab nicht als Handgriff verwenden und

alle Vorsichtmaßnahmen ergreifen um

sicherzustellen, daß die Hand des Benutzers nicht

zwischen dem Reaktionsstab und einem festen

Objekt eingeklemmt wird.

• Bei längerfristigem Dauerbetrieb können

Winkelschrauber der Baureihe D am Spindelende

heiß werden. Alle erforderlichen Vorkehrungen

treffen, um ein Berühren heißer Oberflächen mit

der Hand zu vermeiden. Längerer Hautkontakt

kann zu Verbrennungen führen.

• Alle Winkelschrauber der Baureihe D mit

elektronischer Drehmomentregelung und

Umsteuereinrichtung besitzen in das Gehäuse

eingegossene Richtungspfeile im Bereich des

Umschaltmechanismus. Wenn der

Umschaltmechanismus zum eingegossenen

Drehrichtungspfeil mit dem “F” in der Mitte

gestellt wird, dann dreht die Spindel in

Vorwärtsrichtung oder im Uhrzeigersinn. Wenn

der Umschaltmechanismus zum eingegossenen

Drehrichtungspfeil mit dem “R” in der Mitte

gestellt wird, dann dreht die Spindel in

Rückwärtsrichtung oder gegen den Uhrzeigersinn.

• Nur Schlagschrauber–Steckschlüssel und –Zubehör

verwenden. Keine Hand–Steckschlüssel (Chrom) oder

–Zubehör verwenden.

Die Hnadgriff am Gehäuse ist einstellbar und gestattel einzelnen Benutzern, eine von drei Handgriff–Stärken auszuwählen.

Benutzer mit großen Händen können die größte Griffstärke auswählen, Benutzer mit kleinen Händen die kleinste. Für die

Griffeinstellung das Netzkabel abziehen und wie folgt vorgehen:

1. Die gerillten Enden des verstellbaren Griffschlosses festhalten, die Enden leicht auseinanderziehen, das Schloß ganz nach

oben drücken (vgl. TPD1834).

2. Den verstellbaren Griff festhalten und bis zum hinteren Anschlag schieben. (vgl. TPD1835).

3. Den Griff nach oben bzw. unten verstellen, bis die Rillen im Griff mit den jeweiligen Ansätzen an der Griffstange

ausgerichtet sind (vgl. TPD1836).

4. Den Griff an der Griffstange nach vorne schieben, bis er am Spannring anstößt (vgl. TPD1837).

5. Das Griffschloß nach unten in die Grundstellung drücken, um die Einstellung zu arretieren (vgl.TPD1838).
