tions are a part of this product. They contain important information in regard to
safety, use and disposal. Before using the product, familiarise yourself with all of
these operating and safety instructions. Use the product only as described and
only for the specifi ed areas of application. In addition, pass these documents on,
together with the product, to any future owner.

Disposal of the packaging
The packaging protects the appliance from transport damage. The packaging
materials are selected from the point of view of their environmental friendliness
and disposal technology and are therefore recyclable.
The return of packaging to the material circulation saves raw materials and re-
duces waste volumes. Dispose of packaging material that is no longer needed
according to the regionally established regulations.
NOTICE
If possible preserve the appliance's original packaging during the
wa
rranty period so that in the case of a warranty claim you can package
the appliance properly for return.

WARNING
NEVER take medications (e.g. the dispensing of insulin) solely
on the basis of nutritional values given by this nutrition analysis
scale!
Reinforce your knowledge of the values given by, for example, referring to
literature on the subject. In this way, possible aberrances of the food nutritional
values can be avoided with the reference values saved in the appliance.
Otherwise, it may lead to incorrect dosages of medications! If in any
doubt, seek medical advice!
Basic Safety Instructions
For safe handling of the appliance observe the following safety information:

Before use check the appliance for visible external damage. Do not take into
use an appliance that is damaged or has fallen do
wn.
Persons who, due to their physical, intellectual or motor abilities, are incapable
of oper
ating the appliance safely may only use the appliance under supervision
or direction from a responsible person.
Only permit children to use the appliance under supervision.
Repairs should only be carried out by authorized specialist companies or by
the customer ser
vice department. Incorrect repairs can result in signifi cant
dangers for the user. In addition warranty claims become void.
WARNING - PROPERTY DAMAGE
Defective components may only be replaced with original replacement parts.
Only b
y using original replacement parts can you guarantee that the safety
requirements are complied with.
Protect the appliance from moisture and liquid penetration.
Do not place anything on the scale if it is not in use.
Protect the scales from impacts, moisture, dust, chemicals, extremes of tem-
p
erature and being too close to sources of heat (ovens, radiators).
Do not press on the buttons with excessive force or sharp objects.
Do not expose the appliance to high temperatures or strong electromagnetic
elds (eg mobile phones).
NOTICE
A repair to the appliance during the warranty period may only be carried out
b
y a cutomer service department authorized by the manufacturer other-
wise no additional warranty claims can be considered for subsequent damages.

Interaction with batteries
WARNING
Danger from improper use!
For safe handling of batteries observe the following safety instructions:
Do not throw the batteries into a fi re.
Do not short circuit the batteries.
Do not attempt to recharge the batteries.
Regularly check the condition of the batteries. Leaking batter
y acid can
cause permanent damage to the appliance. When handling a damaged
or leaking battery special care should be taken. Danger from acid burns!
Wear protective gloves.
Store batteries in a place inaccessible to children. If one is swallowed seek
immediate medical attention.
If you do not intend to use the appliance for a long time, remove the
batteries.
Initial use
Remove all packaging materials from the appliance. Remove the protective
foil from the display 3.
Open the battery compartment 9 on the under
side of the scales and remove the
small plastic strips which are clamped between the batteries and the contacts.
Close the battery compartment 9 afterwards, such that the battery compart-
ment cover audibly engages.
The scale can display weights in grams (g) or oz (ounce). You can set the
unit on the r
ear of the appliance. Slide the units switch 2 to the desired unit.
In these operating instructions, g (grams) is always the unit shown as an
example .
Setup
Place the scales on a level and heat-resistent surface. A fi rm standing is the prereq-
uisite for correct measurement.
NOTICE
This appliance is equipped with non-slip rubber feet. As furniture surfaces
may be made of a v
ariety of materials and are treated with many diff erent
types of cleaning agents, it cannot be completely ruled out that some
substances contain ingredients which may corrode the rubber rests and
soften them. If possible place an anti-slip material under the feet of the
appliance.

Operation
Weighing items
1) Press the button ON/OFF TARE to switch the scales on.
The start display appears briefl y, then "0 g" appears automatically.
IMPORTANT
Overloading or improper loading lead to irreparable damage
t
o the appliance.
NEVER place more than 5000 g (11 lb) on the weighing plate 1.
Do not place objects or foodstuff s on the display 3 or on the buttons.

If you wish to weigh without the bowl/container, lay the item to be weighed
on the weighing plate 1. The weight will be indicated.
If you wish to weigh the item in a bowl / in a container, fi rst place the empty
bowl / the empty container onto the weighing plate 1. Press the button
ON/OFF TARE
. The display
3 indicates 0 g. Place the items to be
weighed in the bowl/container. The weight of the items is shown.
Weighing additional items (tare)
To weigh in further amounts (e.g. fl our and water for dough), you can set the
scales back at "0 g".
If you wish to return the scales back to "0 g" after the fi rst measurement so
as to measur
e the next ingredient, press the button ON/OFF/TARE
.
The display 3 once again indicates "0 g" and "T" appears in the display 3.
Display nutrient and energy values
1) Place the items to be weighed on the scales.
2) Find the appropriate code for the food to be weighed from the food list.
3) Enter in the 3-fi gure code with the number buttons 7, e.g. 024. The display 3
then indicates the code and the weight.
NOTICE
If you make an error when putting in the codes, briefl y press the button

6. The code will be deleted. Enter the code in once again.

4) To recall the nutritive and energy values, press the desired function button 8.
The required detail appears in the display 3.
If no further buttons are pressed, after approx. 8 seconds the display changes
back to the weighing mode and the weight is indicated. If you wish toswitch
straight into the weighing mode, press the button

Should you press a function button 8 (e

code has not yet been entered, "Code" blinks in the display 3 3 times.
In this case, enter in the desired code.
NOTICE
Due to natural fl uctuations in the energy and nutritional values, only
appr
oximate are possible.
Switching the scale off
To switch the scales off , press the button ON/OFF TARE for about 3 seconds.
The scales switches itself off .
or
Wait for about 60 seconds after the last usage. The scales switches itself off
automatically.
Saving a measurement
You can save all indicated values of a foodstuff . The scales automatically adds to-
gether the values each saved measurement. . Thus, for example, you can save your
entire food values eaten in one day and recall them at the end of the day. The saved
values are retained, even when you switch the scales off or change the batteries.
You have previously made a measurement and entered the code.
1) Press the save button
M+
4 to save the measurement. In the display 3 ap-
pears "M", the save location (e.g. 01) and the weight. M01 (or the last occupied
space) is shown permanently on the display 3.
NOTICE
If you press the save button
M+
4 without having previously entered in
a code, "Code" blinks 3 times in the display 3. Then enter in the required
code.
2) When you want to carry out and save the next measurement, press the save button
M+
4 once again. In the display 3 the next save position (e.g. M02) appears.
3) To make further measurements, repeat the previously described steps.

NOTICE
You can save up to 99 measurements (M99). When t
he memory is full,
it no longer permits measurements to be saved. In this case, delete the
saved data: press the button

If the nutritive value upper limit is reached with a memory input, "M" blinks
in the display 3 and no fur
ther measurements can be added.
Display added measurement values
You can retrieve the added measurement values at any time, for example, daily.
1) Press the button

In the display 3 appears the sum sign, the number of occupied save locations
and the added-up measurement values.
2) Using the function buttons 8 (except ON/OFF TARE
) switch between
the nutrient and energy value.
NOTICE
When the sum of the saved energy values exceeds 199999 kJ, or another
nutritiv
e or energy value is exceeded, the display
3
indicates
E- - - - “.
After about 8 seconds, if no other buttons are pressed, the scales switches back
to the weighing mode.
NOTICE
If you press the button

5 although no measured values have been
saved, the indicator "NULL" appears in the display 3.
Delete saved measurement values
When you wish to delete the saved measurement values, press the button

Saving own codes
On up to 200 memory slots you can save your own foods and their nutritional
values, and give them a code number (codes 800 - 999). The values you input
will each refer to 100 grams of food.
You can fi nd the nutritional values of foods on their individual packaging or in
specialist literature.
For this proceed as follows:
1) Press the button ON/OFF TARE
to switch the scales on. The start display
appears briefl y, then “0 g“ is indicated automatically.
2) Press the button

for about 3 seconds until “Code 0“ blinks in the display.
3) Enter the desired code number, between 800 - 999, and then confi rm it with
the button

4) Now enter the nutritional value of the food:

6) Enter the food in the appropriate fi eld in the food tables of these operating
instructions.
NOTICE
You can also overwrite one of your previously saved codes, in that you simply
r
eassign the code number and save the new nutritional values under this code.
Cleaning and Care
IMPORTANT
Ensure that no fl
uids can enter the scale!
This could irreparably damage the appliance.
Do not use abrasive or solvent cleaners.
These could damage the surfaces.
Wipe the scale with a soft cloth moistened with mild soap suds.
Clean the display 3 only with a lightly moistened cloth and then wipe it dr
y
with a lint-free towel.
To clean the weighing plate 1 car
efully remove it, in that you pull it straight
up. Clean the weighing plate 1 in a mild soapy solution . Dry the weighing
plate 1 well before putting it back on the scale and fi rmly pressing it down.

Troubleshooting
In this chapter you will receive important information for malfunction localization
and remedies. Observe the instructions in order to avoid danger and damage.
WARNING
Observe the following safety information to avoid danger and property
damage:
Repairs to electronic appliances may only be carried out by specialists
who h
ave been trained by the manufacturer. Considerable danger to the
consumer and damage to the appliance can occur as a result of incorrect
repairs.
The following table will help with localizing and remedying minor malfunctions:

Disposal
Disposal of the appliance
Do not dispose of the appliance in your normal domestic waste.
This product is subject to the European directive 2002/96/EC-WEEE
(Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment).
Dispose of the appliance through an approved disposal centre or at your community
waste facility. Observe the currently applicable regulations. In case of doubt, please
contact your waste disposal centre.
Disposing of the batteries
Used batteries/rechargeable batteries may not be disposed of in household waste.
Every consumer is legally obliged to dispose of batteries at a collection site in his
community / city district or at a retail store. The purpose of this obligation is to
ensure that batteries are disposed of in a non-polluting manner. Only dispose of
batteries/cells when they are fully discharged.
Warranty and Service
The warranty for this appliance is for 3 years from the date of purchase. The
appliance has been manufactured with care and meticulously examined before
delivery. Please retain your receipt as proof of purchase. In the event of a warranty
claim, please make contact by telephone with our Service Department. Only in this
way can a post-free despatch for your goods be assured.
The warranty covers only claims for material and maufacturing defects, but not
for transport damage, for wearing parts or for damage to fragile components,
e.g. buttons or batteries. This product is for private use only and is not intended
for commercial use. The warranty is void in the case of abusive and improper
handling, use of force and internal tampering not carried out by our authorized
service branch. Your statutory rights are not restricted in any way by this warranty.
The warranty period will not be extended by repairs made unter warranty. This
applies also to replaced and repaired parts. Any damage and defects extant
on purchase must be reported immediately after unpacking the appliance, at the
latest, two days after the purchase date. Repairs made after the expiration of the
warranty period are subject to payment.

Food codes
NOTICE
Due to insuffi
cient study results and deviating compositions of foods containing animal fats
from diff erent manufacturers, the cholesterol levels in some meat products are not stored in
the balance and are thus displayed with „0.0“. These foods are marked with a *.
In this case then please use the cholesterol levels given by the manufacturers.
