2
WARNING!
The vibration level given in
these instructions has been measured in accordance
with a standardised measurement procedure specified
in EN 60745 and can be used to compare devices.
Different uses of the device give rise to different
vibration levels and in many cases they may exceed
the values given in these instructions. It is easy to
underestimate the vibration load if the electrical power
tool is used regularly in particular circumstances.
Note: If you wish to make an accurate assessment
of the vibration loads experienced during a particular
period of working, you should also take into account
the intervening periods of time when the device is
switched off or is running but is not actually in use.
This can result in a much lower vibration load over
the whole of the period of working.
General safety advice for
electrical power tools
WARNING!
Read all the safety advice
and instructions! Failure to observe the safety
advice and instructions may result in electric shock,
fire and / or serious injury.
Keep all the safety advice and instructions
in a safe place for future reference!
The term “electrical tool” used in the safety advice
refers to electrical tools powered by mains electrici-
ty (by means of a mains lead) and electrical tools
powered by rechargeable batteries (without a
mains lead).
1.
Workplace safety
a) Keep your working area clean and
well lit. Untidy or poorly lit working areas
can lead to accidents.
b)
Do not work with the device
in potentially explosive envi-
ronments in which there are
inflammable liquids, gases or dusts.
Electrical power tools create sparks, which can
ignite dusts or fumes.
c)
Keep children and other
people away while you are
operating the electrical tool.
Distractions can cause you to lose control of
the device.
2.
Electrical safety
a)
The mains plug on the device must match
the mains socket. The plug must not
be modified in any way. Do not use
an adapter plug with devices fitted
with a protective earth. Unmodified
plugs and matching sockets reduce the risk of
electric shock.
b) Avoid touching earthed surfaces such
as pipes, radiators, ovens and refrig-
erators with any part of your body.
8 GB/IE
General safety advice for electrical power tools
There is an increased risk of electric shock if
your body is earthed
.
c) Keep the device away from rain or
moisture. Water entering an electrical device
increases the risk of electric shock.
d)
Do not use the mains lead for
any purpose for which it was
not intended, e.g. to carry the
device, to hang up the device or to pull
the mains plug out of the mains socket.
Keep the mains lead away from heat,
oil, sharp edges or moving parts of the
device. Damaged or tangled mains leads
increase the risk of electric shock.
e) When working outdoors with an
electrical power tool always use ex-
tension cables that are also approved
for use outdoors. The use of an extension
cable suitable for outdoor use reduces the risk
of electric shock.
f) Use a residual current device (RCD)
for protection if operating the electri-
cal power tool in a moist environment
is unavoidable. The use of an RCD reduces
the risk of electric shock.
3. Personal safety
a) Remain alert at all times, watch what
you are doing and always proceed
with caution. Do not use the device if
you are tired or under the influence of
drugs, alcohol or medication. One mo
ment
of carelessness when using the device can lead
to serious injury.
b)
Wear personal protective
equipment and always wear
safety glasses. The wearing of
personal protective equipment such as dust
masks, non-slip safety shoes, safety helmets or
ear protectors, appropriate to the type of elec-
trical power tool used and work undertaken,
reduces the risk of injury.
c) Avoid unintentional operation of the
device. Check that the electrical power
tool is switched off before you connect
it to the mains, pick it up or carry it.
Accidents can happen if you carry the device
with your finger on the ON / OFF switch or with
the device switched on.
d) Remove any setting tools or spanners
before you switch the device on. A tool
or spanner left attached to a rotating part of a
device can lead to injury.
e) Avoid placing your body in an unnat-
ural position. Keep proper footing
and balance at all times. By doing this
you will be in a better position to control the
device in unforeseen circumstances.
f) Wear suitable clothing. Do not wear
loose clothing or jewellery. Keep your
hair, clothing and gloves clear of mov-
ing parts. Loose clothing, jewellery or long
hair can become trapped in moving parts.
g) If vacuum dust extraction and collection
devices are fitted do not forget to
check
that they are properly connected and
correctly used. The use of these devices
reduces the hazard presented by dust.
4.
Careful handling and use
of electrical power tools
a) Do not overload the device. Always
use an electrical power tool that is
intended for the task you are under-
taking. By using the right electrical power
tool for the job you will work more safely and
achieve a better result.
b)
Do not use an electrical power tool if
its switch is defective. An electrical power
tool that can no longer be switched on and off
is dangerous and must be repaired.
c) Pull the mains plug from the socket
before you make any adjustments to
the device, change accessories or when
the device is put away. This precaution is
intended to prevent you from unintentionally
starting the device.
d) When not in use always ensure that
electrical power tools are kept out of
reach of children. Do not let anyone use
the device if he or she is not familiar
with it or has not read the instructions
9 GB/IE
General safety advice for electrical power tools
and advice. Electrical power tools are dan-
gerous when they are used by inexperienced
people.
e)
Look after the device carefully. Check
that moving parts are working prop-
erly and move freely. Check for any
parts that are broken or damaged
enough to detrimentally affect the
functioning of the device. Have dam-
aged parts repaired before you use
the device. Many accidents have their origins
in poorly maintained electrical power tools.
f) Keep cutting tools clean and sharp.
Carefully maintained cutting tools with sharp
cutting edges are less likely to jam and are
easier to control.
g) Use the electrical power tool, accesso-
ries, inserted tools etc. in accordance
with these instructions and advice, and
the stipulations drawn up for this par-
ticular type of device. In doing this, take
into account the working conditions
and the task in hand. The use of electrical
power tools for purposes other than those in-
tended can lead to dangerous situations.
Appliance-specific
safety Instructions
To avoid the risk of injury or fire as well
as health risks:
When working outdoors, connect the
appliance via a residual current cir-
cuit-breaker with a maximum break-
ing current of 30 mA.
Only use an extension cord certified
for use outdoors.
S
ecure the workpiece firmly. Use clamps /
vices to firmly hold the workpiece. It is
thus better secured than just with your hand.
In case of danger, immediately pull
the power plug from the socket.
Always run the power cord away
from the appliance to the rear.
DANGER OF FIRE FROM FLYING
SPARKS! Abrading metal creates
flying sparks. For this reason, always
make sure that nobody is placed in any danger
and that there are no inflammable materials
near the working area.
WARNING!
NOXIOUS FUMES!
Any harmful / noxious dusts generated from
sanding represent a risk to the health of the
person operating the device and to anyone
near the work area.
WARNING!
DUST HAZAR
D!
When sanding wood and in particular
when working on materials that give
rise to dusts that are hazardous to health, the
sander must be connected to a suitable external
dust extraction device.
Wear protective glasses and
a dust mask!
Ensure sufficient ventilation when work-
ing on plastics, paints, lacquers, etc.
Do not soak materials or surfaces to be
worked with liquids containing sol
vents.
Avoid sanding of lead-based paints or
other materials that are hazardous to
health.
Material containing asbestos may not
be worked on. Asbestos is considered a
carcinogen.
The appliance is designed for dry sur-
face sanding of wood, plastic, metal
and smoothing compounds as well as
painted surfaces.
Never work on moistened materials
or wet surfaces. Water entering an electri-
cal device increases the risk of electric shock.
Always hold the appliance firmly with
two hands while working (see also
Fig. D, E).
Never support your hands next to or
in front of the device or on the surface
being worked as there is a risk of in-
jury in the event of slipping.
Always switch off the appliance and
allow the sanding pad
9
to come to
a stop before setting down the oscil-
lating sander.
Always pull the power plug out of the
socket for all work pauses, before any
work on the appliance (e.g. changing
the sanding paper) and when not in use.
10 GB/IE
The appliance must always be kept
clean, dry and free of oil or lubricat-
ing greases.
Original ancillaries / and
accessories
Only use accessories and tools that
are specified in the operating instruc-

Vacuuming dust
WARNING!
FIRE HAZARD!
A risk of fire exists when working with
electrical appliances that have a dust
collection box
4
or can be attached to a vacuum
cleaner via an external suction adapter! Under cer-
tain conditions the sanding dust in the dust box (or
in the vacuum’s dust bag) may self-ignite, e.g. as a
result of flying sparks generated when abrading
metals or metal objects left in wood. This can hap-
pen especially if the wood dust has paint particles
on it or is mixed with other chemical substances
and the sanded material is hot after extensive work-
ing. You should therefore avoid overheating of
products being sanded as well as the appliance
and always empty the dust collection box
4
or
the dust bag of the vacuum cleaner before work
pauses.
Wear a dust mask!

VAROLTUS!
Näissä ohjeissa ilmoitettu
värähtelytaso on määritetty normissa EN 60745
standardoidulla mittausmenetelmällä ja sitä voidaan
käyttää laitevertailussa. Värähtelytaso muuttuu säh-
kötyökalun käytön mukaan ja se saattaa monesti
ylittää tässä ohjeessa mainitun arvon. Värähtelyra-
situsta saatetaan aliarvioida, jos sähkötyökalua
säännöllisesti käytetään tällä tavalla.
Huomio: Liikekuormituksen arvioimiseksi tietyn
työajan kestäessä on huomioitava myös ajat, jolloin
laite on sammutettuna, tai ajat, jolloin laite on käyn-
nissä, mutta ei työkäytössä. Tämä saattaa vähentää
merkittävästi liikerasitusta kokonaistyöskentelyajan
kestäessä.
Sähkötyökaluja koskevat
yleiset turvaohjeet
VAROLTUS!
Lue kaikki turva- ja muut
ohjeet! Turva- ja muiden ohjeiden laiminlyönti voi
aiheuttaa sähköiskun, tulipalon ja / tai vakavia
loukkaantumisia.
Säilytä kaikki turva- ja muut ohjeet
tulevaa tarvetta varten!
Turvallisuusohjeissa käytetty käsite „sähkötyökalu“
koskee verkkokäyttöisiä sähkötyökoneita (verkko-
johdolla) ja akkukäyttösisiä sähkötyökoneita (ilman
johtoa).
1. Työpaikkaturvallisuus
a) Pidä työskentelypaikka puhtaana ja
hyvin valaistuna. Epäjärjestys ja huono
valaistus voivat johtaa tapaturmiin.
b)
Älä käytä laitetta räjähdys-
vaarallisessa ympäristössä,
jossa säilytetään helposti
syttyviä nesteitä, kaasuja tai jossa
kehittyy pölyä. Sähkötyökalut kehittävät
kipinöintiä, joka voi sytyttää pölyn tai höyryn.
c)
Lapsien ja asiattomien henki-
löiden läsnäolo työpaikalla
laitteen ollessa käynnissä ei
ole sallittua. Voit helposti menettää kontrol-
lin laitteeseen.
2. Sähköturvallisuus
a) Laitteen pistokkeen pitää sopia pisto-
rasiaan. Pistoketta ei saa muuttaa
millään tavalla. Älä käytä adapteria
yhdessä suojamaadoitettujen laittei-
den kanssa. Alkuperäinen pistoke ja sopivat
pistorasia vähentävät sähköiskuvaaraa.
b) Vältä kosketusta maadoitettuihin pin-
toihin, kuten putkiin, lämpöpattereihin,
liesiin sekä jääkaappeihin. Vaarana on
saada sähköisku, jos kehosi on maadoitettu.
18 FI
Sähkötyökaluja koskevat yleiset turvaohjeet
c) Älä pidä laitetta sateessa tai
muussa
kosteudessa. Veden pääsy laitteeseen lisää
sähköisku vaaraa.
d) Älä kanna laitetta riiputta-
malla sitä kaapelista ja vedä
kaapeli irti pistorasiasta
pitämällä kiinni pistokkeesta. Älä jätä
kaapelia kuumaan paikkaan, älä
päästä siihen öljyä, varo teräviä reu-
noja sekä laitteen pyöriviä osia. Vialliset
tai kietoutuneet kaapelit lisäävät riskiä saada
sähköisku.
e) Jos työskentelet ulkotiloissa, käytä
silloin jatkokaapelia, jonka käyttö on
sallittu myös ulkotilaan. Ulkotilaan sovel-
tuva kaapeli vähentää riskiä saada sähköisku.
f) Jos sähkötyökalua joudutaan käyttä-
mään kosteassa ympäristössä, on
käytettävä vikavirtakytkintä. Vikavirta-
kytkimen käyttö pienentää sähköiskun vaaraa.
3. Henkilöiden turvallisuus
a) Ole aina tarkkaavainen, tarkista aina,
mitä teet ja toimi järkevästi sähkölait-
teilla työskennellessäsi. Älä käytä
laitetta, jos olet väsynyt, käyttänyt
huumeita, alkoholia tai lääkkeitä.
Epätarkkaavaisuus laitetta käytettäessä voi
aiheuttaa vaikeita loukkaantumisia.
b)
Käytä henkilökohtaisia tur-
vavarusteita ja suojalaseja
aina. Henkilökohtaisten turvavarus-
teiden käyttö, kuten pölynaamari, turvakengät,
kypärä tai kuulosuoja, vähentävät loukkaantu-
misriskiä.
c) Varo käynnistämästä laitetta vahin-
gossa. Varmista, että sähkötyökalu
on kytketty pois päältä, ennen kuin
liität sen pistorasiaan, nostat sen tai
kannat sitä. Tapaturmat ovat mahdollisia, jos
sormesi on laitetta kantaessasi virtakytkimellä
tai laite on kytketty päälle.
d) Poista kaikki työkalut ja ruuviavaimet
paikalta ennen kuin kytket laitteen.
Pyörivässä laiteosassa oleva työkalu tai avain
voi johtaa tapaturmaan.
e) Vältä työskentelemästä epätavalli-
sessa asennossa. Asetu tukevaan
asentoon ja pysyttele koko ajan
tasapainossa. Pystyt silloin hallitsemaan
laitteen erityisesti yllättävissä tilanteissa.
f) Käytä sopivaa vaatetusta. Älä käytä
ysiä vaatteita äläkä pidä koruja.
Hiukset, vaatteet ja käsineet on pidet-
tävä etäällä liikkuvista osista. Löysät
vaatteet, korut ja avonaiset hiukset voivat jäädä
kiinni liikkuviin osiin.
4. Sähkötyökalujen huolellinen
käsittely ja käyttö
a) Älä ylirasita laitetta. Käytä työssäsi
tätä työtä varten tarkoitettua sähkö-
työkalua. Sopivan sähkötyökalun kanssa
työskentelet paremmin ja varmemmin sen teho-
alueella.
b)
Älä käytä mitään sähkötyökalua,
jonka käynnistyskytkin on viallinen.
e) Hoida laitetta huolellisesti. Tarkasta,
toimivatko sen liikkuvat osat moit-
teettomasti ja että ne eivät jumitu;
tarkasta, onko joku osa katkennut tai
murtunut tai vahingoittunut niin, että
se haittaa laitteen toimintaa. Korjauta
19 FI
Sähkötyökaluja koskevat yleiset turvaohjeet
vialliset osat aina ennen kuin käytät
laitetta. Moni tapaturma johtuu huonosti
huolletuista sähkötyökaluista.
f) Käytä sähkötyökaluja, lisätarvikkeita,
käyttötarvikkeita jne. tässä esitettyjen
määräysten mukaisesti ja aina erityis-
tä tyyppiä vastaavasti. Ota huomioon
työolosuhteet ja työ. Sähkötyökalujen
käyttö muuhun kuin sille määrättyyn tarkoituk-
seen voi aiheuttaa vaarallisia tilanteita.
Tasohiomakoneen laitekoh-
taiset turvallisuusohjeet
Loukkaantumis- ja palovaaran sekä ter-
veydellisten haittojen välttämiseksi:
Kun työskentelet ulkona, liitä laite vi-
kavirta (FI)-suojakytkimellä maksimi
30 mA laukaisuvirralla.
Käytä vain ulkokäyttöön hyväksytt
jatkojohtoa.
Varmista työkappale paikoilleen.
Käytä työkappaleen paikoillaanpitä-
miseen kiinnityslaitteita / ruuvipuristint
a.
Työkappale pysyy näin varmemmin paikoillaan
kuin käsin kiinnitetty.
Irrota vaaratilanteessa verkkopistoke
pistorasiasta.
Johda verkkojohto aina laitten taakse
siitä poispäin.
LENTÄVÄT KIPINÄT VOIVAT
AIHEUTTAVAT TULIPALOVAA-
RAN! Metallin hionnassa syntyy
lentäviä kipinöitä. Pidä tästä syystä ehdotto-
masti huoli siitä, ettei kukaan ole vaarassa eikä
palavia materiaaleja ole työalueen lähistöllä.
VAROLTUS!
MYRKYLLISIÄ HÖYRY-
JÄ! Työstössä syntyvät vaaralliset / myrkylliset
pölyt voivat vaarantaa käyttöhenkilöstön ja lä-
hellä olevien henkilöiden terveyden.
VAROLTUS!
PÖLYN AIHE-
UTTAMAT VAARAT! Liitä laite
sopivaan ulkopuoliseen pölynimu-
laitteeseen, kun käsittelet pitemmän aikaa puuta
ja etenkin materiaaleja, joista voi syntyä tervey-
delle vaarallisia pölyjä.
Käytä suojalaseja ja pöly-
suojusta!
Huolehdi riittävästä tuuletuksesta,
kun käsittelet muoveja, maaleja,
lakkoja jne.
Älä kasta materiaaleja tai käsiteltäviä
pintoja liuoteainepitoisiin nesteisiin.
Vältä lyijypitoisten maalien tai muiden
terveydelle vaarallisten materiaalien
hiomista.
Asbestipitoisen materiaalin työstö on
kielletty. Asbestia pidetään karsinogeenisenä.
Laite soveltuu puun, muovien, metallin
ja pohjustusmassan sekä maalattujen
pintojen kuivaan hiontaan.
Älä työstä kostutettuja materiaaleja
äläkä kosteita pintoja. Veden tunkeutumi-
nen sähkölaitteeseen kohottaa sähköiskuriskiä.
Pidä laitetta töiden aikana kiinni mo-
lemmin käsin (katso myös kuva D, E).
Älä missään tapauksessa tue käsiä
laitteen viereen tai eteen tai työstet-
tävään pintaan, koska liukastuminen
voi aiheuttaa loukkaantumisvaaran.
Sammuta laite aina ja anna hiomapa-
perin
9
värähtelyn loppua, ennen
kuin asetat tasohiomakoneensivuun.
Irrota verkkopistoke aina pistorasias-
ta työskentelytaukojen ajaksi ja ennen
kaikkia laitteella suoritettavia töitä
(esim. hiomapaperin vaihto) sekä lait-
teen ollessa käyttämättä.
Laitteen täytyy olla aina puhdas ja
kuiva eikä siinä saa olla öljyä eikä
voitelurasvoja.
Alkuperäiset varaosat /
lisälaitteet
Käytä ainoastaan varusteita ja lisälait-
teita, jotka on mainittu käyttöohjeessa
.
Muiden kuin käyttöohjeessa suositeltujen työka-
lujen tai muiden varusteiden käyttö voi merkitä
tapaturmavaaraa.

Pölyn imeminen
VAROLTUS!
TULIPALOVAARA!
Työskenteltäessä sähkölaitteilla, jotka on
varustettu pölynkeruulaatikolla
4
tai
jotka voidaan liittää pölyä imevän laitteen avulla
pölynimuriin, on olemassa tulipalonnvaara! Epä-
suotuisissa olosuhteissa kuten esim. kipinöiden len-
täessä, metallia tai puussa olevia metallijäämiä
hiottaessa, voi hiomapöly pölynkeruulaatikossa (tai
pölynimurin polypussissa) syttya palamaan itsestaan.
Erityinen vaara uhkaa, jos hiomapölyyn sekoittuu
maalijäämiä tai muita kemiallisia aineita ja hiottava
kappale kuumenee pidemmän tvaiheen aikana.
Vältä siksi ehdottomasti hiottavan tuotteen tai laitteen
ylikuumeneminen ja tyhjennä pölynkeruulaatikko
4
tai pölynimurin pölypussi aina ennen tyoskentely-
taukoja.
Käytä pölysuojusta!
