2.2 Claris cartridge - aqua filter system F088 (only available as accessory)

n To get the best taste from your coffee and extend your appliance’s service life, we advise you to use only

the Claris - Aqua Filter System cartridge sold as an accessory.

It comprises a scale-removing substance and activated carbon that reduces chlorine, impurities, lead,

copper, pesticides, etc. that are present in the water. Minerals and trace elements will then be preserved.

2.1 Measuring water hardness

n Before using the appliance for the first time or if you have noted a change in water hardness, it is

advisable to adapt the appliance to the water hardness. To determine the water hardness, use the

measuring stick delivered with your appliance or contact with your water authority.

It is possible to turn your

machine off automatically

after a number of pre-

programmed hours.

Press the steam key to

switch to automatic

shut-off setting=>

Note : At each stage you can memorise settings by pressing the key if you have finished setting satisfac-

torily or continue the procedure. If no other setting is made in the next 30 seconds, the lights will go off and

the settings shown will be recorded. The settings will remain memorised even if there is a power failure.

You can change these settings at anytime by repeating the same operations.

Note : Do not fill the water tank with hot water, milk or any other liquid. If you tur

n on the appliance when

the water tank is not in place or not correctly filled (under the “min.” level,), the “fill water tank” light will

come on and making an espresso or a cup of coffee will be made impossible.

Caution! : It is recommended that you do not use oily, caramelised or flavoured coffee beans for

this machine. These kinds of beans may damage the machine.

Caution! : Check that the coffee beans do not contain any foreign particles such as grit, as any da-

mage caused by the presence of foreign particles will negate the guarantee.

Do not put water into the coffee bean container.

Remember to fit the drip tray to avoid waste water flowing onto the work surface and

staining it or scalding you. Check that your water tank is clean.

SETTING UP THE AUTO-CAPPUCCINO XS 6000

n This auto-cappuccino accessory makes it easier to make a cappuccino or a caffe latte.

Note : The tube must not be twisted to ensure that the selector is in the correct position.

Caution! : To prevent milk from drying on the auto-cappuccino accessory, it must be cleaned

thoroughly. It is recommend that you wash it immediately by carrying out a cycle with

steam and the accessory pot filled with water in order to clean the inside of the noz-

zle. To do so, you can also use a liquid cleaner XS4000, available as an accessory.

!

Clean it under water and

dry thoroughly.

MAINTAINING YOUR APPLIANCE

10.1 Emptying the coffee grounds collector, the coffee tray and the

drip tray

n The drip tray receives waste water and the coffee grounds collector receives used coffee

grounds. The coffee cleaning tray allows you to eliminate any deposits of coffee grounds.

If the light comes

on, remove, empty and

clean the drip tray.

Caution! : As soon as you remove the coffee grounds collector, you will have to empty it com-

pletely to avoid any overflow.

!

Note : The light will remain on if the coffee grounds collector is not slotted in fully or not fitted correctly or

if it has been put back in less than 4 seconds. You cannot make espresso or coffee while the light is on or

is flashing. The coffee grounds collector has a capacity of 9 coffees.

10.2 Machine cleaning program - total duration: about 20 minutes

n You should perform the cleaning program about every 350 preparations of espresso or coffee.

n The appliance will let you know when you need to proceed with cleaning through the ‘clean’

light coming on.

Clean it under water and

dry thoroughly.

2- Remove the cleaning tray

Caution! : To benefit from the guarantee conditions, it is essential to perform the appliance cleaning

cycle when informed to do so. Be sure to follow the procedure closely, step by step.

You can continue to use the appliance when the light is on, but you are advised to perform

the program as soon as possible.

and insert a cleaning

pellet (Krups XS3000)

in the cleaning pipe.

1 - Cleaning cycle

± 10 mn

The ‘clean’ light becomes steady.

The cleaning cycle will be run automatically.

The pump sucks up water intermittently. This operation lasts about 10 minutes

and the ‘clean’ light will flash again.

2 - First rinsing

± 5 mn

The ‘clean’ light will become steady again.

The program continues.

A first rinsing cycle will be run automatically. It allows the ap-

pliance to be rinsed and remaining detergent to be eliminated.

This first rinsing cycle lasts about 5 minutes

and once finished the ‘clean’ light will flash again.

Remove, fill and re-fit the

water tank.

Place a container with a

minimum capacity of

0.6 l under the coffee

outlets.

Remove and empty

the drip tray.

Empty your waste water

container and put it back

under the coffee outlets.

Again press the ‘Service’

button to start the first

rinsing cycle.

cycle will last 6 minutes.

Empty the drip tray and

then fit it again.

Empty and then fill your

water tank.

Remove your waste

water container and the

drip tray then fit them

again.

Your appliance is now ready for use again.

Once the second

rinsing is finished, the

‘calc’ light will go off.

Note : If there is not enough water in the water tank, you will be warned by the light. Add the appropriate

amount of w

ater to the tank and scale removal will continue automatically.

If a power failure occurs during the cycle, you will have to start it up again from the start.

!

Caution! : Be sure to complete the entire scale removal cycle to avoid any risk of intoxication.

The scale removal cycle is a continuous cycle. Do not put your hands under the coffee

outlets and steam nozzle during the cycle.

!

10.4 Long rinsing program

n The appliance will warn you when you need to perform long rinsing through

the “clean” and “calc” lights flashing.

Clean the cleaning tray, the drip tray and its grid, the

coffee grounds collector and its front part using

warm water and washing up liquid detergent.

To make the cleaning of the coffee grounds collec-

tor easier, dismantle it as shown above.

10.5 General maintenance

n Always remove the power supply cord from the socket and let your appliance cool down before cleaning it.

n Do not use utensils or cleaning products likely to scratch or corrode the appliance.

n Wipe the body of the appliance on the outside using a moist cloth.

Rinse the water tank

with fresh water.

Once long rinsing has

been completed, the

‘clean’ and ‘calc’ lights

will go off.

Remove, fill and replace

the tank.

Under the coffee outlets

and steam nozzle place a

recipient that can contain

at least 0.15 L.

Press the “Service” key to

start up the long rinsing

program. The “clean” and

“calc” lights will become

fixed.

Starten Sie das Reinigungspro-

gramm mit der Taste „Ser-

vice“. Die Anzeigen „clean“

und „Kaffeesatzbehälter“

blinken.

Setzen Sie zuerst den Reini-

gungsschieber wieder ein und

dann den Kaffeesatzbehälter.

Die Anzeige erlischt.

Reinigungsprogramm der Maschine – Gesamtdauer: ca. 20 Minuten

n Wenn das Gerät gereinigt werden muss, wird dies durch ein Aufleuchten der „Clean” Anzeige-

leuchte angezeigt.

n Dieses Programm ist nur nach Aufforderung des Geräts hin möglich (ungefähr alle 300 Zube-

reitungen von Kaffee oder Espresso).

trocknen.

1- Nehmen Sie den Kaffee-

satzbehälter ab, leeren Sie

ihn aus und reinigen Sie ihn.

2- Nehmen Sie den Reini-

gungschieber heraus.

Achtung :

Damit die Garantie wirksam werden kann, müssen Sie den Reinigungszyklus unbedingt ausführen,

wenn die entsprechende Anzeige am Gerät erscheint. Beachten Sie die Reihenfolge der Vorgänge.

Wenn die Anzeige aufleuchtet, können Sie das Gerät weiterhin verwenden, aber wir empfehlen, das

Programm möglichst bald auszuführen.

1 - Reinigungszyklus

Die Anzeige „clean“ leuchtet permanent auf.

Der Reinigungszyklus läuft automatisch ab.

Die Pumpe saugt das Wasser mit Unterbrechungen an.

Dieser Vorgang dauert etwa 10 Minuten. Anschließend blinkt die Leuchtanzeige „clean“ erneut.

2 - Erstes Spülen

± 5 min

Die Anzeige „clean“ leuchtet wieder permanent auf.

Das Programm wird fortgesetzt.

Ein erster Spülzyklus läuft automatisch ab. Er dient dazu, das

Gerät zu spülen und Reste des Reinigungsmittels zu entfer-

nen. Dieser erste Spülzyklus dauert etwa 5 Minuten.

Anschließend blinkt die Leuchtanzeige „clean“ erneut.

Den Wassertank abneh-

men, mit Wasser füllen

und wieder einsetzen.

Stellen Sie einen

Behälter mit einem

Fassungsvermögen von

mindestens 0,6 l unter

die Kaffeeausläufe und

unter die Dampfdüse.

Den Abtropfbehälter

herausnehmen und

ausleeren.

Leeren Sie den Behälter mit

dem durchgelaufenen Wasser

aus und stellen Sie ihn wieder

unter die Kaffeeausläufe.

Starten Sie einen ersten

Spülzyklus durch erneutes

Drücken der Taste

„Service“.

Starten Sie das Ent-

kalkungsprogramm mit

der Taste “Service“. Die

Anzeigen „calc“ und

blinken.

Stellen Sie einen Behälter

mit mindestens 0,6 l Fas-

sungsvermögen unter die

Kaffeeausläufe und unter

die Dampfdüse.

Die Tropfschale

herausnehmen und

reinigen.

Den Tank ausleeren

und bis zum Strich „calc“

mit lauwarmem Wasser

füllen.

Einen Beutel Krups-En-

tkalker (40g) F054 auflö-

sen.

Setzen Sie den Wasser-

tank wieder ein.

Die Kontrollleuchte

leuchtet auf.

Nach Beendigung

dieser Vorgänge die Taste

„Service“ drücken.

1 - Entkalkungszyklus

± 10 min

Die Anzeige „calc“ leuchtet permanent auf.

Der Entkalkungszyklus ist gestartet und läuft automatisch ab.

Die Pumpe saugt das Wasser mit Unterbrechungen an.

Es fließt an den Kaffeedüsen und an der Dampfdüse aus. Die-

ser Vorgang dauert etwa 10 Minuten. Wenn er beendet ist,

blinken die Anzeigen „Wassertank“ und „calc“.

2 - Erstes Spülen

± 6 min

Ein erstes Spülen ist erforderlich, um Reste des Entkalkers zu entfernen.

Dieser Zyklus läuft automatisch ab. Er dauert etwa 6 Minuten.

Leeren Sie den

Behälter mit dem

durchgelaufenen Wasser

aus.

Die Tropfschale

ausleeren und wieder

einsetzen.

Den Wassertank

ausleeren, reinigen,

spülen und wieder bis

zum maximalen Füllstand

mit Wasser füllen.

Setzen Sie Ihren Wasser-

tank wieder ein. Die An-

zeige „calc“ blinkt und die

Anzeige erlischt.

Drücken Sie die Taste

„Service“ und die

Anzeige „calc“ leuchtet

permanent auf. Der auto-

matische Zyklus dauert

6 Minuten.

3 - Zweites Spülen

± 6 min

Nach Beendigung des ersten Spülens blinkt die Anzeige „calc“. Der zweite automatische Zyklus dauert etwa 6 Minuten.

2.1 Mesure de la dureté de l’eau

n Avant d'utiliser l'appareil pour la première fois ou après avoir constaté un changement dans la dureté de

l’eau, il convient d’adapter l’appareil à la dureté de l’eau constatée. Pour connaître la dureté de l’eau,

déterminez-la à l’aide du bâtonnet livré avec l’appareil ou adressez-vous à votre compagnie des eaux.

Remarque : Utiliser de l’eau de source ou issue d’une cartouche filtrante pour optimiser le résultat en tasse.

Remarque : La cartouche Claris nécessite d’être remplacée tous les 50 litres d’eau environ ou tous les deux

mois au minimum.
